The Queensland Disability Stakeholder Engagement and Co-design Strategy is a commitment to working in partnership with people with disability, their families, carers and support networks are central to shaping the policies, services, and systems that impact their lives.
Developed in collaboration with Queenslanders with lived experience of disability, this Strategy sets out a clear and practical approach to how government and stakeholders will work together—through genuine engagement and co-design—to create more inclusive, responsive, and empowering outcomes.


Our purpose
The Strategy exists to:
- Strengthen relationships between people with disability, government, and community stakeholders.
- Promote genuine engagement, where people with lived experience are active partners in decision-making.
- Embed co-design practices into how services and systems are developed and improved.
- Ensure transparency, accountability, and trust across all levels of engagement.
Who it’s for
This Strategy is for:
- People with disability, their families, carers, and representative organisations.
- Community and advocacy organisations.
- Government agencies and staff at all levels.
- Service providers and support professionals.
- All Queenslanders who are working toward a fairer, more inclusive state.
